Turquine Sant was a curious young boy growing up. He was always questioning things. Why do the islands just pop up from the sea? From where do Holy men get their power? How do monsters simply appear out of nowhere? The only answer his humble religious family could give him was simply: the gods did it. This answer inevitably prompted the question: why are the gods silent?
Turquine was born in Oxlin, Dyril. His intense curiosity lead him to actively study religious knowledge. At the age of 15 he joined Dyril's church of Omega and began training to become a paladin. During the first year of his training, Turquine was recognized as having great potential. For his remaining five years of training he was personally mentored by the Grand Amender of Dyril, Tunlac Walds . After his training he served the church for four years, spreading the word of Omega and guarding the clergy.
At the end of his service, Turquine mentioned his questions about the silence of the gods to Tunlac. Tunlac saw his questioning as arrogance and told him that such thought were a sin. This ignited a heated argument which ending in Tunlac demanding that Turquine leave the church in Oxlin and never return to him. This fight caused Turquine to realize that their lack of information about the gods is, in part, do to this kind of willful ignorance. This epiphany strengthened his resolve and encouraged him to explore the world, looking for knowledge that people had either missed or ignored.
Turquine's mount is Lonza, a large black stallion.
